News~ 7/17/03

We were busy again last weekend. Three shows in three days. The Pour House, Springfield's City Block Summer Series and Cafe Manhattan. A good weekend once again.

We're in Somerville, MA this weekend at the Sky Bar and at Widow's Walk in Scituate, MA next weekend. We're also practicing like crazy for the Mohegan Sun Battle of the Bands Competition on July 30th.

We will also be headlining the Iron Horse on July 28th!

We played a great show in NYC last night. A good draw for July 4th weekend and a solid performance by the band.

We capped the evening off with several rounds of drinks in the Penthouse of the Majestic Hotel, a rooftop bar overlooking Times Square. A great place. I highly reccommend it.

So here's the recent news...

I haven't written in a while because my computer crashed and refused to turn on again. I sent it out for repairs and Sony Corporation, in their infinite wisdom, decided that they would erase my hard drive of all of the information I have amassed in the last eight years.

I was not amused...

But all things happen for a reason, and in the words of my good friend and drummer Adam Culbert, "You'll just build it up bigger and stronger this time." So that is what I will do.

Things have been going great in light of the aforementioned disaster. We have finally mastered our sound equipment and played three great shows this weekend. We are putting together new material and practicing to polish the old stuff.

See you at the Saturday Bentley Billiards show!

News~ 6/2/03

A good weekend though a little less turbulent than the last. Only two shows, one early gig at Jester's in Westfield, and a later set at the grand opening of the lounge at Bentley Billiards, also in Westfield.

The Benny Mann Band is off this coming weekend and will practice in Scituate to put together some new material and polish the current set.

Naismith's Friday...
Cafe Manhattan Saturday...
The Iron Horse Sunday...

A long but smokin' weekend for the Benny Mann Band. Even with the sickness of lead singer Benny Mann, the Band cranked it up a notch to thrill three audiences in three days.

Joined by guest performer Will Guzman Friday night, the band secured future gigs in three new venues and made new fans in Western Mass.

What a weekend!

We worked like wild people Sunday and Monday orchestrating the final details of the upcoming show schedule. Andy and Adam came out west from the south shore for the first time. Thanks fellas! Furthermore, thanks to Chris and Sandie Mann (yup... Mom and Dad) for giving up their home and food to a ravenous Benny Mann Band. Things should run smoothly this weekend.

We also partied like rockstars on Sunday night acosting a wedding party and making new friends in several Western MA towns.

->Don't forget to check out the upcoming show dates.<-

The day after our first show!

Last night was fantastic. We performed well for our first gig but the most impressive component of the evening was the the fan turnout. We, a Massachusetts Band, drew a larger crowd than any of the other NYC bands present. Thanks to our die hard fans for showing up on a rainy Wednesday night to listen to our show.

A great time was had by all, and the after party continued until 3:30. Not too shabby for a work night...

News~ 5/18/03

Today is a historic day to the band. We had our final practice at the Heritage Salmon Plant. No more "Jammin' in the Salmon"... Then again no more smelling like wharf rats either. Regardless, the end of an era.

Special thanks to Ian White for his support of our band for this practice space. It was a great few months and we appreciate the help throughout.

Today also marked the final practice before our Acme Underground gig in New York City. Things went well and the show should be great!

News~ 5/14/03

Well I'll admit I haven't written in any news in some time. The truth is that we've all been very busy with the band putting stuff together for our first few performances (See Gig Schedule). We've added some new pictures here and there and we sent out 200 press kits/demo packages to get some new gigs. Otherwise the big effort has finally focused on the most important component of musicianship... cultivating and perfecting our music. Whoo-hoo!

We can't wait to see you at the shows!

Things are going great!

The band is now in full swing with the addition of sax player Andy Scanzillo. The CD is finished and Robbie Niemann, Adam Culbert, Andy and I have been practicing each Sunday getting our sets together.

The purchase of a PA System last week will take the group to a new level as we are now ready (electronicaly at least) to play anywhere. We are in the process of booking gigs for the spring and summer. Drop me a line if you have any connections!

News~ 2/17/03

Robbie Niemann (bassist) and I drove out to Boston yesterday to try playing with some potential musicians for future gigs: a drummer~ Adam Culbert, and a guitarist~ Ian White. Both fellas are members of the incredible band "The Midnight Collective". Things went really well and we are planning a tentative second practice for next Sunday.

I am desperately trying to finish mastering the tracks for "Life in Poetic Terms". Tonight or Wednesday things should be finished for sending out the CD for mass production. Chris Gillman of Soundstream Media has been more than generous in putting up with my complulsive perfectionism and infinite re-recording demands.

Wish me luck!

News~ 1/30/03

Right now I'm in the final stages of finishing off my first full length album "Life in Poetic Terms". It will have eleven tracks and be the culmination of a batch of work I started recording last summer.

I had hoped to have finshed this project in December but a long (entirely necessary and joyus) holiday season of carousing with my friends made for a financial shortage in January. So you might say there has been a bit of a hold up. Such is life I suppose...

Either way, final mastering and editing should be complete soon. I'm in the studio on February 6 so it might be finished then. My art is coming along great as well so I would guess things are on line for a February completion.

ROCK ON!
